Sweet Tea, Barbecue, and Bodychecks
Of course, it could only get better after that embarrassing performance on Saturday. I watched that game last night and couldn’t find much wrong with the Hurricanes’ performance–even Avi Tanabe was good (and from me, that is saying a lot).
Some brief specifics:
*Dennis Seidenberg showed why he deserves to be in the lineup.
*Matt Cullen showed the Rangers how they slotted up by misusing him and then letting him go (how’s Andrew Hutchinson working out for you there, Slats?)
*Cory Stillman did nothing 1.
*The Hurricanes played about as complete a game as I’ve seen them play since October, and they showed what they can do when they actually play their game and make the other team have to adapt to them.
Hopefully they can do it again on Thursday in Tampa and Sunday in Detroit. I’ll sacrifice Saturday, if it means that the tribe will scalp the Menses Munchers the next day. Just sayin’.

I love it when Cory Stillman does nothing.
Cully has renewed my faith in him. I think the Baron gets better the more ice time he gets.
And I WILL be changing Chad LaRose’s name to Scrappy LaRose. He da bomb.
Ward sure looked sharp out there- I hope he keeps it up! And if I ever get a small, yappy dog (like a Jack Russell Terrier), I’m naming it “Rosey!”
Fuck you guys in Carolina! Sweet tea, Barbeque and Bodychecks should not be together whatsoever. Bring back the Whalers! Hockey should not be south of Mason Dixon line.

As somebody who has done her best to keep the memory of the franchise’s past alive and who has nothing but respect for the Hartford days, I really appreciate your coming to show your ass in my commentbox. Thank you for trying to make everyone who wears an old-school Whalers jersey at the RBC Center look like an idiot–I’m sure that they really appreciate it–and I’m sure that your parents are oh SO proud that they raised a child who’s grown up to become a seeping fistula on the butt-end of society.
