I know. I mean, what drives people to be such dickfaces over a bunch of 1’s and 0’s? I mean, sure, I get excited when a boss drops something I can use, because that makes me more helpful to the group, and when the group wins, I win. Will I pitch a shit fit if he doesn’t? No, I congratulate my guildies and move on, because they also benefit the group as a whole when they get something shiny, and again, when the group wins, I win. Plus hearing my best friend get all excited over her shoulders dropping is fun in and of itself.

I say, if you can’t enjoy the journey, why bother going? Yeah, I could be in Serpentshrine Cavern right now getting phatter lewtz, but I’d rather be playing with my friends, if it’s all the same to the rest of the Warcraft community. Our guild doesn’t have time for douchebags, and if we never get past Kara, I’ll still be there, because fun > loot. Period.

Heh; camaraderie is spelled right.

But yeah. I once got blasted on the WoW livejournal community because I had the bollocks to say that I see WoW as a fun game to play, and loot doesn’t matter that much to me.

It really pissed this guy off when he said “I’m going to join your Molten Core group and ninja everything that you roll on, and then disenchant it right in front of you” and my response was “…and by the time you’re done standing there wanking your tiny little e-peen and showing what a childish little drama queen you are, I’ll have left the group and gone to do something that’s actually fun for me.”

Finally, some enthusiasm. A lot of other people I talked to are all “FTS, now what’s the point in raiding if it’s all gonna be obsolete again soon?” Because it’s a game, and you play the fucking game because it’s fun? Challenge, tourism, camaraderie*, whatever? I didn’t realize this was a competition to see how much “phat lewtz” you could get, or some other asinine measure of your epeen (has that become a standard term now?). DIAF, jerks, I’m going back to Karazhan.

I know what you mean about the Hunter. Mine’s a Nelf female, too, and I don’t dance because I always get uncomfortable. I mean, it’s a video game chracter. The Human male dance (on my main, a Warrior), though, is just goofy.

* - It looks wrong, but spellcheck says it actually looks nothing like “comrade,” so I’m gonna go with it.
