OK, I can see one game, more if there was injury involved. But Spacek wasn’t hurt–so where the fuck did Clownshoe Campbell come up with NINE GAMES? It wasn’t like anyone’s neck was broken or anything.
Don’t tell me–this was to make up for serial killer Alex Ovechkin’s willful and deliberate attempt to decapitate emo-boy Briere, right?

That’s about seven games too many under the most stringent of circumstances. Clownshoe is right.
Considering how much Bertuzzi got for something similar, 9 games is far too little for a blatant sucker punch. Why should the injury dictate the punishment? It was a chickenshit move.
I disagree that AO was headhunting briere in anyway similar to this sucker punch. The AO hit was unfortunate but he didnt charge him and the hit wasn’t intended to injure Briere. It was just a bad choice by AO to follow through with it but at 210 lbs and with AO’s speed he cant exactly stop on a dime after he’s comitted. This guy DESERVES all the time he gets b/c it was totally a retaliation and he blind-sided him. AO never threw a punch, so how are these incidents even similar other than the fact that neither saw it coming?
