The miracle of the Great Plains--though my better bet was usually WCCO (which pained me, because I was an Oilers fan and not a Stars fan).

I never had access to game schedules, so I had to hope for the best on nights when the weather was clear. But when I hit paydirt, it was like finding the Comstock Lode all over again.</description>

I, too, grew up on the Sports Machine, although I thought it was already off of the air. IF I remember correctly, he literally had a "sports machine" with bleeping lights and video feeds. That was the best part.</description>
