Damn, dude.

Darren McCarty to auction off everything but his soul.

There are no words to describe how I feel about being smacked in the face with the realization that I’ve got more money than an NHL player, even though I only make $8.55 an hour.

What the Hel, man?

“McCarty, 33, has said the lockout, which wiped out the entire 2004-05 season, was a major reason for his falling into debt.”

Yet no one else seems to have fallen into debt after the lockout. Not that I have room to talk, but how about “poor money management” — such as spending it on “a wide assortment of sports equipment, arcade and Playstation games” — was a major reason for his falling into debt? Guys, your house does not need to be “Cribs”-worthy to prove you made it.

But how embarrassing and sad this must be for him.

Mac has always been one of my favorites and I won’t get into the fact he did it to himself. But don’t feel sorry for him because you think you have more money..he can keep his home and primary car which could be a Rolls. He is also allowed to keep enough of his money to pay his living expenses which can be quite liberal and pay pennies on the dollar on the extravagant lifestyle he has led.In 7 years he is done and will be able to sell off and keep quite a bit for himself.
We working stiffs on the other hand will continue to plod along.Sorry,I love Mac but have no sympathy.
BTW,we have quite a barn burner of a season series brewing, huh.

Hmm us real people don’t owe Casino’s what we hope to make in 20 years of labour. Money management should be part of what the union does for the players but what the heck. Gene Simmons to the rescue…
