Loading ...Good thing I work third shift on Monday night.
Unlike the Cole hit, I didn’t see anything dirty about the hit on Trevor Letowski. It was bad, it knocked him out, and he’ll be down for a while. But there was no elbow involved and there wasn’t any criminal intent (this hasn’t stopped a few random mouthbreathers from popping up and screaming that, for example, Sid Crosby should get taken out with a flying elbow or whatever).
It was, however, interference and should have been called as such–but then I’m a rules-lawyer, so there you go.
Next up: Tampa. Word round the campfire is that Crackers will be ‘twixt the pipes for this one–it’ll be nice to see how he does against his old team.
Hope your right and Johnny gets the nod tonight,we could use some target practice.He will get Booo’d without mercy and deserves every bit of it.You guy’s will be doing the same soon enough.If Ward gets the start it should be the best game of the young season with both teams needing to keep the momentum going.
The St. Pete Times is reporting Grahame will not start,but asked if he had anything to say to anyone he said,”Something might come out you know.It depends on how revved up I get”….Oh please Johnny,do get revved up!!!
Oh, we’re not very impressed with him so far here.
Mind you though, I’ve never been all that impressed with him since the ‘Canes used to light him up all the time in his Boston days. :p
I sure hope it’s not Grahame. He was brutal in his last start and Cam has been playing very well. Besides, of all our division foes, I probably hate Tampa the most, so I’m really longing for a win in this one.
I liked Tampa in ‘04, when they set the standard for the rest of the Division to meet–but that all went by the board last season, so I’m hoping we paste SuperMidget to the boards and beat the stuffins out of Marc Denis.
Lavi owes him some payback for all the whuppins he used to give the Isles as a Smoking Jacket anyway.
The Letowski hit was a misjudgment by the other player, kinda like a late hit in football, he had enough time to stop, but felt he was commited to it, and maybe he should have take a step to the side and tried to miss him, but it didnt seem like he had any obvious intent to injure. I do believe SOME kind of penalty should have been called, elbowing, interference etc.. but the dude was upset and played scatterbrained for the rest of the game.. so I’m sure he didnt mean to do it. Also Letowski seems like he will be OK and return shortly.
As far as Tampa, I’m glad they put Cam in, damn near got the shutout.. and boy did we light Denis up. Great game and Canes are rollin now! Up to second in the division with those 3 wins.
