Preds fan here.

I don't think anyone is questioning the postponement. If they'd continued the game I'd have turned it off. On the Predators message boards it's pretty much 100 percent agreement with the way everything was handled. There is currently an unprecedented lovefest going on between Wings and Preds fans online thanks to the widely reported classiness of the Nashville players and coaches during the incident and the outpouring of support for Fischer from the Nashville fans.

I agree that Fischer's career probably is and should be over. But that shouldn't be minimized. You hear all these commentators toss off "he's going to live and that's the most important thing, hockey is secondary right now." I'm guessing Jiri Fischer's emotions are more complicated than that. A pro athlete losing his career in his prime is almost a form of death. Let's pray that Fischer can refill the life that was put back in his body on the Wings' bench.

Welcome back.
Although the Nashville netcast was probably right on, watching it on Tv was devastating. I cannot describe the state of the fans. For 40 minutes that was all the TV cameras could show, and they were all suffering from shock. Some praying, others just staring with their eyes glazed over, and others talking quietly into celfones. You got to see the doctor arrive, shed his jacket and start pounding on his Chest (No one knew for sure, who was down), and then administer CPR, waiting for the DeFib to be brought to the scene. Postponing the game was a proper decision, and anyone criticizing that would be the loudest critics had they resumed play.

I see Ray Whitney now has 17 pts in 14 games....Go Canes.
